salamander heater

The salamander heater can be operated either by gas or through an electric device depending on the type of heater that you have with you. There are many uses for these heaters and it is common to see construction employees making use of this heater because they may need to work in desolate and far flung areas where the other modes of cooking facilities may not be available.

To put it simply, a salamander heater is nothing but a heater that performs its function either by forced air or through a technology known as convection technology. It is also quite common to see these heaters being fuelled by kerosene and other such cooking fuels. Since the construction site workers are the ones who have to keep on shifting places and often work in remote locations, the use of a salamander heater is quite high in this particular industry. It is quite common for people to give some new and unique names to such heaters and often people call them as torpedo furnaces. The word ‘salamander’ is basically a Spanish one and in this language a burning wood is referred to as Salamandra from which the term of this heater could have come. Though not many people know about it, these heaters have been used for at least 5 to 6 decades. According to many articles, the first salamander heater was first used sometime in the year 1940 and since, the growth of this heater has been quite impressive though not many people know about it.

The basic technology that makes a salamander heater work is by allowing movement of cold air inside a hot flame that comes already as a pre installed device. Since, it requires ventilation to work because of the need to push in cold air, they are best suited for outdoor use. It is also very common to see these heaters being used by those who are on an outdoor picnic. It is quite common to such heaters being extensively used in beaches, river banks and other places of outdoor picnic spots. Condensation is a big problem which must be adequately addressed when using this salamander heater. They are reasonably priced and hence there is a steady demand for this product.
